MOTIVATION LETTER

               Application Submitted for admission into “Masters in _____program”.

With my undergraduate education coming to a finale, I am once again, at one of the crossroads of life where I have to take a major decision, which finally shapes my future. Graduate study is a significant milestone in the perpetual journey to “Education”. With due reverence to the Department and the University, I pen down a “MOTIVATION”. This statement is an attempt to project my credentials as an aspiring researcher, my achievements as an Engineer and my ambitions.

A graduate course would pave way to earning hands-on experience and acquire specialization. It would help hone my skills, earn proficiency and seek professional exposure. Though comprehensive in curriculum, the undergraduate course offers limited scope for specialization.

MY SCHOOLING:

I was exposed to computer at a very early age in school. I learnt basics at the age of seven, and became fascinated about computers and programming. I obtained a solid grounding in mathematics and physical sciences during my early school years and during preparation for engineering entrance examinations in India.

My schooling and further study have really shaped my thought process and attitude towards education. From my childhood I had a strong proclivity towards mathematics and sciences, with this shot in the arm I went on to do my pre-university education at “XXX College”. Here I was exposed to eminent faculty, who helped bring me to the academic level I am. I have appeared for the ENTRANCE TEST, a standardized test conducted for admission into the undergraduate courses, where I came out with flying colors.

MY UNDERGRADUATE STUDY:

My undergraduate study was the most pivotal period for shaping my future in a right direction. With the cheer I obtained through ENTRANCE TEST, I have taken Computer Science & Engineering as my major in XXX COLLEGE under the prestigious XXXX University. The reasons for opting Computer Science & Engineering as my major are, I was good at Mathematics and sciences from my schooling. 

           Our undergraduate study syllabic had a rigorous curriculum that included every important corner of Computer Science and engineering. It consisted of Computer Networks, Operating Systems, C and Data structures, DBMS, Java, C++, Web technologies (HTML), Software Engineering, Computer Organization, Mathematics and English. During my undergraduate study, I could implement my ideas in visual manner. I have always actively participated in seminars at university level.

PURPOSE OF GRADUATE STUDY:

During the undergraduate study, I decided to further my acquired interest in Computer Science and Engineering major. My propensity for research and insatiable thirst for knowledge and my ambition to contribute substantially to the field of Computer Science and engineering have installed in me a longing to take up graduation. I wanted to do a Masters in ______PROGRAM and the excitement of setting a  goal and solving it by new Scientific innovations and techniques fascinated me  ever since and has led me choose Software as my fission.

I declare that my purpose in GERMANY for study is very genuine and make successful career in the field of Computers I have chosen Sweden universities which are known for their world-class research facilities. I feel that graduate study at Sweden universities is the best type of further education, at this juncture because of the flexibility incorporated in its learning system, its infrastructure, the intense interaction with the industry and exposure to the latest technology.

WHY DID I CHOOSE YOUR UNIVERSITY?

I wish to earn a Masters degree in ________. I spoke to my professors, seniors and friends about my choice of University, and have applied to your University   because it is reputable for its research facilities and computing resources. The department website revealed a very strong faculty involved in extensive research in the area of computers. It was during my project work I realized that study, apart from dedication and the hard work requires an inspiring environment, competitive atmosphere and motivated faculty. Having gone through the web pages and brochures, I am sure that this university will offer me the intellectual stimulating environment needed to help me excel in my chosen area of study. I hope that my struggle, perseverance and triumph through my undergraduate studies qualify me as an excellent candidate for graduate study. Based on the information amassed by me, I am confident that this university will be ideal for me to attain my full academic potential.

FURTHER PROSPECTS:

In the recent years many multinational companies in the field of information technology have set up their offices in various cities in India. So I believe that my master’s degree in a reputed institution will enhance my job prospect in this field.   I am fully aware that your institution requires that I summon all my resources and I aver that I have the necessary commitment, intelligence and stamina to look forward to it. I am convinced that my study at your institution would be a meaningful and rewarding experience. I would like to take with me, in addition to knowledge of Computers, a network of strong and lasting relationships with my teachers and fellow students. I hope that my background and qualifications are found suitable for an MS degree in ____________ at your University.
